Days 12-14 Florence, Italy

After leaving the beautiful national park of Cinque Terre, we took a rickety train to Florence. We arrived at our apartment which was adorable with its yellow and dark pink painted walls. Home of the birth of the Renaissance, Florence boasted in its art and culture, the most famous being the Michaelangelo's David in the Accademia Museum. David's privates are a famous source of cash flow from tourists here as they're displayed all over the shop stands, properly placed on boxers of different colors to be sold.

We spent a full day shopping and bargaining at the leather market. Who knew we'd have such a desire for leather goods? I came away with 3 leather purses (of the same color, but different sizes!), a leather jacket (to be worn right smack in the middle of summer), a scarf, and 2 bracelets.

Here are some pictures I took while I wasn't shopping. =)

Another facade of the Duomo, note the pink and green marble. Like a watermelon.
This guy used the acoustics of the buildings to play Simon and Garfunkel. It was a beautiful summer night for American music. =)
